Action Alert
Background:  The Senate Foreign Relations Committee successfully voted the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability or CRPD out of committee before reces.  The CRPD supports the values of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) which includes equality, independence and rights for those with disabilities living overseas. By voting Yes to ratify the treaty, the Senate allows the U.S. to have a much greater voice in the discussion surrounding global disability rights.
Action Needed:  Contact your Senators and ask them to vote Yes when they return from recess on the ratification of the CRPD.  Let them know that the Veterans Community supports the CRPD and it is important to have thier vote.  Ask them to support the disability treaty and help secure the United States voice in this important discussion!
