Help At-Risk Veterans Find Employment and Stable Housing
Urge Congress to fund the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program to help homeless and at-risk veterans find meaningful employment and secure stable housing.

An effort is underway in the U.S. House of Representatives in support of the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP), the only national program that helps homeless and at-risk veterans develop the skills and training they need to find employment and secure housing. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) program has been a key tool in helping to reduce veteran homelessness by nearly 50 percent since 2010.

Representatives Kathleen Rice of New York and Greg Walden of Oregon are seeking support in the U.S. House of Representatives to robustly fund HVRP in fiscal year 2020.

Please contact your Representatives and ask that they join Representatives Rice and Walden in support of the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program.

Please sign onto a funding letter being circulated by Representatives Kathleen Rice of New York and Greg Walden of Oregon in support of employment training and support services for homeless and at-risk veterans available through the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP).

HVRP is the only federal program that targets employment and training for homeless veterans. Through HVRP, homeless veterans and veterans at-risk of homelessness receive job training, counseling, and other employment services and community supports to help them find stable housing and a meaningful job. The U.S. Department of Labor program, which serves about 17,000 veterans annually, has been a key tool in helping to reduce veteran homelessness by nearly 50 percent since 2010. DOL estimates that much of the remaining eligible population includes veterans who experience chronic homelessness and will require more time and greater access to HVRP's intensive, veteran-centered case management approach.
