Military Justice Improvement Act
On the Cloture Motion
03/06/2014
Senate Roll Call No. 59
113rd Congress, 2nd Session

Rejected: 55-45 (see complete tally)

On March 6, 2014, the Senate failed to invoke cloture, by a vote of 55-45, on the Military Justice Improvement Act (S. 1752). The ACLU supported a vote for cloture and         supports S. 1752 because it would improve the independence and integrity of the military justice system by amending the Uniform Code of Military Justice to place appropriate limits on the role of the convening authority in the prosecutorial decision-making process.
