On October 8, 2004 the House passed by a vote of 344 to 72 an amendment to H.R. 10, the 9/11 Commission Recommendation Act,  that -- if included in the final bill -- would result in the largest expansion of the federal death penalty in 10 years. The ACLU opposed this amendment. (Roll Call Vote No. 514)
