Government Funded Religious Discrimination in Job Training
On Agreeing to the Amendment
House Roll Call No. 46
109th Congress, 1st Session

Failed: 186-239 (see complete tally)
On March 2, 2005, the House rejected, by a vote of 186 to 239, an amendment to the Workforce Investment Act (H.R. 27) protecting against religious discrimination in tax-payer funded job training programs. As introduced, this bill would eliminate those protections. The ACLU supported this amendment because it would have restored the protections in current law against government funded religious discrimination. (Roll Call Vote No. 46)
