House Roll Call No. 30
113rd Congress, 2nd Session

Passed: 227-188 (see complete tally)

On January 28, 2014, the House passed, by a vote of 227-188, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2014 (H.R. 7), introduced by Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.).  H.R. 7 would permanently deny abortion care to women who rely on the government for their health care and manipulate the tax code so as to penalize small businesses who provide comprehensive health care coverage.  The ACLU opposed H.R. 7 because it would further entrench discriminatory laws that deny abortion care to women enrolled in Medicaid and other federal health care programs and extend these unjust prohibitions into the private sector.  (113th Congress, Second Session, Roll Call Vote No. 30)
