On Oct. 27, 2015 the Senate rejected amendment 2581 to S. 754, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA), by a vote of 22 to 73. The ACLU opposed this amendment because it would have extended liability protection to companies that share cyber threat indicators with the FBI or Secret Service, significantly expanding the scope of the bill.
