20-week Abortion Ban
On Passage
House Roll Call No. 251
113rd Congress, 1st Session

Passed: 228-196 (see complete tally)
On June 18, the House passed, by a vote of 228 to 196, the so-called “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (H.R. 1797) which imposes a nationwide ban on abortions at 20 weeks of pregnancy.  The ACLU opposed H.R. 1797, because it interferes in a woman’s most personal, private medical decisions and violates fundamental constitutional precepts.
