Protection Against Government Funded Religion
On Agreeing to the Amendment
House Roll Call No. 15
108th Congress, 2nd Session

Failed: 182-231 (see complete tally)
On February 4, 2004, the House rejected -- by a vote of 183 to 232 -- an amendment to a bill reauthorizing the Community Services Block Grant (H.R. 3030) that would have prohibited religious discrimination against employees in federal CSBG-funded programs, and would have required all federal CSBG programs to be run in a "lawful, secular manner." The CSBG program funds a wide array of services for persons living in poverty. The ACLU supported this amendment. (Roll Call Vote No. 15)
