Update (3/13/17): The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office just scored the ACA repeal plan, and found that under this plan 24 million more Americans would lose insurance by 2026 – including 14 million by 2018. And in addition to people losing coverage, the ACA repeal would mean $880 billion in federal Medicaid cuts. This is intolerable – act now to tell your senators to vote NO on the ACA repeal bill.
House leaders introduced a bill that would repeal key provisions of the Affordable Care Act, defund Planned Parenthood, and gut the Medicaid program. It targets women, people with disabilities, communities of color, low-income individuals and families, and anyone seeking reproductive health care. The bill gravely jeopardizes the health care coverage of millions of people and threatens the well-being of those most in need. And Congress is fast-tracking it – committees have already advanced it without congressional hearings and without official analysis of how many people would lose care if the bill became law.
Repealing the ACA threatens our civil rights and liberties and harms millions of vulnerable people. Take action now – tell your members of Congress to oppose the American Health Care Act, the ACA repeal bill.
